What is the value of studying the humanities in the field of health professions?

Notably, humanities play a significant role in assisting us in comprehending human relations (Larsen et al., 2015). As a result, knowledge in humanities helps medical practitioners in providing effective healthcare due to the building and maintenance of patient-nurse relationships. Importantly, these relationships between medical practitioners and patients set a foundation for evidence-based care and patient-centered care (Larsen et al., 2015). Humanities also assist in relationship standards between medical practitioners and other medical staff (Martin & Jacobus, 2019.
