Personally, I think the top 2 markers of adulthood are when you start to become independent and have bigger responsibilities beyond yourself and when you start to develop a more rational higher level of thinking. When you are younger, like the times when we were still going to school, the responsibilities that most people have at that age group are their school works. The main goals were only to excel in school and to graduate.
