Week 4 Discussion – Human Resource Management, Teams and Empowerment
Students – We are social animals, we thrive on interaction, engagement and collaboration. If we learn to work together, solve problems and move forward, then we likely will be successful in our future endeavors.. To that effect, write your opinions on: What is a team? What are the characteristics of an effective team? ( See Chapter 9!!).
Now, think about your imaginary business (from last week) and please state how you would motivate such a team in your imaginary business. Would you use extrinisic or intrinsic motivators? Goal Setting Theory? etc? For ideas, See Chapter 8 which mentions Maslow, Herzberg, Vroom theories etc.
Submit your original response in 250 words or less, ask questions, engage and respond to at least two classmates for full points.
