This is a very complicated question. But let me try to answer this based on my experiences and observations. Strictly speaking, I would say that marrying someone from the same cultural background does not guarantee a happy ever after ending. Just look at how the rates of divorce in America. Many of the couples ending up divorcing are coming from the same cultural background.
