Is Abortion Morally Wrong?
Abortion is arguably one of the most divisive issues in society. What is being conflicted is the right to life of the unborn and the legitimate interest of the State to protect a viable life in the womb on the one hand and the right of a woman to freedom of choice, especially when continuing the pregnancy will cause her undue mental anguish and economic uncertainty, on the other.

Abortion is one of the complex questions of both policy and value confronting society. The issue has received increased attention in the past months after a state passed a law outlawing abortion even before the prescribed time contemplated in Roe v Wade. While some contentions are grounded on the rights of women especially to freedom of choice and personal safety, it can be said that the issue is still debated along moral lines. For this reason, it is important to address the question of whether abortion is morally wrong.
