Discussion 9 – Chapter 8 Answer

  1. How are marble, quartzite, schist and gneiss formed? Which was formed under the most extreme pressure and temperature?

Marble, quartzite, schist and gneiss are metamorphic rocks. They are formed from pre-existing rocks that are subjected to heat and pressure, forcing minerals to realign themselves depending on the amount of pressure exerted
