This week, we have learned about how climate has changed many times throughout Earth’s history. For this week’s discussion, I would like for us to take a deeper dive into what these previous climates may have been like.
- Choose one geologic epoch that is not the current one we are in (the Holocene). Link to Geologic Time Scale Here (Links to an external site.)
- Describe in one to two paragraphs what we know about the climate during that time. (This might take some serious googling! I recommend https://scholar.google.com/ (Links to an external site.)for this one. Start with key words, like paleoclimateand the name of your epoch. Reading abstracts (summaries) is better than reading entire papers for this exercise!)
- What do you think it would have been like for humans if they had lived during that time period?
For this exercise, I chose the epoch Eocene, which is approximately 33.9 to 23 million
