    According to Dr. Larry Brilliant (2020), countries like the United Kingdom and the United States earned a failing grade in their response to COVID-19 due to political incompetence, fear, interference, and not taking the situation seriously. Dr. Brilliant added that while it is natural to feel fear and doubt, this has to be taken with a great deal of precautions because the possibility that it can be real, and severe is highly possible considering the number of fatalities connected with the outbreak. The thing that was unacceptable with how these countries that received a failing mark was how their political leaders were too complacent about the situation. When the public see their leaders dismissing safety protocols and challenging the credibility of scientists and experts, then they too will embrace and take on this kind of behavior.
