The Social Cognitive Theory (SCT) will be used for the planning process of the educational program for patients with Alzheimer’s disease. The model, formerly called Social Learning Theory, was developed by Albert Bandura in 1960. He developed it further in 1986 as the SCT and posits that learning occurs in a social context through dynamic and reciprocal interaction between the person, environment, and behavior (LaMorte, 2019). According to this theory, social influence is a unique way to acquire and maintain behavior. In other words, this includes a person’s past experiences that shaped a person’s behavior, specifically how he interacts with others. For this research, the main goal is to create an educational program that would help patients with Alzheimer’s to initiate a behavior for health promotion rather than maintain a behavior.
