Indirect democracy is also known as the representative democracy. Under this category, the citizens are not directly responsible for the laws. In the case of the US, this is why citizens vote for different members of the government. On the other hand, direct democracy happens when people themselves are responsible for decision-making. This happens in the US in today’s world through the voting in referendums.
