1. Discuss the controversy about the recognition of Rosalind Franklin’s contribution to the deduction of the structure of DNA.

 Rosalind Franklin’s work has not received recognition because of the controversial issue of equality and gender discrimination that happens at work, especially in the midst of medical and scientific specialists. Her work in 1950’s in discovering the DNA’s double helix has created a huge difference on how the understanding of human DNA has improved since then. Instead of Franklin receiving the recognition, her peers Watson and Crick got the recognition for the discovery.

From discovering the DNAs double helix makeup, it could be noted how the discovery of how genetic inheritance occurs. Although her explanations were accompanied by supportive research, it was not immediately accepted. Instead, it was passed on for further peer review. Crick was one of the peers who reviewed the work mentioned that DNA strands have an arranged antiparallel fashion.
