Discussion Question:

1. Based on your knowledge gained about human genome structure, explain how nearly 2 meters of DNA is organized such that it occupies the space within a human cell’s nucleus.

It is rather a puzzling fact that a 2 meter stretched DNA fits a 6 μm diameter of a cell’s nucleus. The first discoveries point out that DBA is composed of two strands of polymer that is wound up into a helix. This is known as the DNA chain or the DNA strand. These nucletides are composed of five-carbon sugar that contains nitrogen as base. The base pairings are always complementary so as to be packed with enough energy to drive the DNA’s value of functionality. With critical elements broken down into the smallest, microscopic form, this 2 meter double strand does fit in the structure of a nucleus- no matter how seemingly smaller it is compared to the measure of stretched DNA.
