Essay on The Impact of Climate Change on Arctic Biodiversity
The Arctic biodiversity is the home of thousands of cold-blooded mammals, fishes, plants, and microbes. The animals that can be found in this region are the polar bears, penguins, lichens, and other species that form part of the region’s core. Endemic species are found in this region as they can only survive in extreme cold and places with low temperatures. The said entities are important to one another as they provide food for each other which is necessary for their cultural survival as a whole. The biodiversity found in the Arctic region includes interdependent species and forms part of the whole ecosystem in the place. The interaction between humans and the surroundings forms part of the sustainability of this diversity. However, due to certain changes in society, there is a risk that the ecosystem will be destroyed mainly because of climate change and global warming.
