Discussion 1
Discussion 1
Prompt
For the following statements, discuss whether each is correct or not. What about it is or isn’t right? How would you say it more correctly or more clearly?
Natural selection is deceptively simple. The three truths about the natural world that ensure natural selection is always happening are new to most students and can be hard to explain unless you really understand what is happening. And the language to explain these ideas needs to be precise. So, this is also an exercise in using class vocabulary correctly. Word choice matters a lot – one word can change the meaning of a sentence!
Instructions
Your discussion group will work together to decide whether and how to fix each statement below. The first person to start on a statement should copy one of the following statements and paste it into your reply to the whole discussion, so we know which one you are editing. Or join in the discussion on an already started statement by replying to the others in a thread to discuss a statement that was already started. The idea will be to a thread of replies, one for each statement.
