According to the article, ecologically-diverse classes consistently showed lower extinction rates even after controlling the effects of physiological buffering capacity, motility, habitat, and feeding mode, suggesting the existence of additional, unidentified reasons that account for their resistance to extinction. What do you think are the most plausible reasons for their increased resistance?
