Discussion Board #2: Sentence Types
Part 1: Create a thread and type the following in the body:
- Write a simple sentence with a prepositional phrase about where you live.
- Write a compound sentence linking two clauses with “however.” Write about classes.
- Write a compound sentence linking two clauses with a FANBOYS. Write about your family.
- Write a complex sentence with “because” introducing the dependent clause. Write about a recent decision that you made.
- Write a compound/complex sentence. Write about your plans for the semester.
Part 2: Read and EDIT THREE of your classmates’ sentences. Don’t rewrite the original sentence, just retype it correctly in the “reply” box under their post. You can edit three sentences from the same person or edit different people’s sentences!
Part 3: Edit your own sentences based on the suggested edits you received. You can edit your own work by clicking the “edit” button next to the “reply” button. Do not post your own edits as a reply!
All parts of this assignment are due by the end-of-day weekly due date.
