Small Group Discussion: Health Appraisals –

Review the Health Appraisals power point presentation. Share your experience and thoughts in the small group discussion.

Use the following questions to guide your discussion:

• Have you had experience with any the forms of information described (health screenings for vision or hearing or. . .)? Identify the form and share your experience in the discussion.
• How do you think you might organize a daily health check process (as a member of the teaching staff, there are no nurses or health care providers available to perform this function in the early childhood setting)?
• How would you accomplish this quickly and discretely, how would you document the information gathered while maintaining confidentiality, what would you do if you suspect the child may not be well or may be contagious? Explain what and why. Begin your discussion today, plan to make a minimum of three posts in discussion with your group mates. The final post should present the group’s plan for Daily Health Checks and should address all of the questions found in the final bullet point. Complete your discussion by Monday, 3/14 before 11:59 pm.
