In your initial post, tell us what your impressions of bebop were (if you had any) before this week’s reading/listening assignments. Had you heard the word bebop before? What did it make you think of?

Then, write a short summary of your choice from above. Who was it about? What instruments did the musicians play and/or what were they known for? What were challenges they encountered during the 1940s-50s? How did bebop differ from swing? Minimum 150 words for full credit (you can always write more if you want).
