  1. Which of the childhood illnesses or infectious diseases have you had? How old were you and how did you become infected?
  2. What was the most likely method of transmission, explain why or how you know.
  3. There are several stages in the infectious process, what are they? When are children likely to be most contagious? What are the signs or symptoms associated with the prodromal stage of an illness?
  4. When the infection or illness is acute, what are the symptoms likely to include? Are children still contagious during this period, why or why not? Explain how you know.
  5. What is the stage called when children begin to get better? How do there needs change as they enter this stage?
  6. When and why might children return to group care?
