Week # 1 – Discussion: Introduction to CPT

Question

Discussion is a class requirement – this is your opportunity to engage and interact with your class mates —  a unique value in online learning is discussion, engagement and interaction. 

Directions: After you read Chapter#1 respond to the following prompt: Your initial post should respond to the following two prompts: Submit your original response in 250 words ( 15 pts) – due by Wednesday midnight (11:59PM) 

  • What is the CPT code set?
  • What is the main difference between CPT code set and HCPCS?

Now engage and discuss  with at least two students from the class, by Thursday or Friday morning  – each post should have minimum of 50  words – ( 2 students 5 pts per student  ) 

  • Ask them ” how difficult they think the class is:  from a scale of “1 to 5” – 1 being easy 5 being difficult.
  • Respond when your classmates ask a question or comment on your original posts. Be candid and sincere – this is a true place of learning.

  • Provide your 250 word response to the Original Questions :
    • What does the author say that Root words are associated with?
    • What does he say is the function of the prefix ? 
  • Once the response is complete – you are satisfied with your answer
