Week 9 Discussion Forum

Question

Do you think segregation exists in any form in contemporary America? And, do you think the residential segregation described in the Reft article continues to exist today? Where might we see evidence of residential segregation-or what evidence might show that it does not exist? If it does exist, do you think we might see the disappearance of it in the future-and what might allow for its disappearance?

Overall, do you think our communities are much more diverse than in the mid-20th century? (You might even consider our university or workplaces in answering this question!) And do you think we might see anything similar to the “white flight” of the mid-20th century in contemporary America?
