Week 14 – Semester Finale: Final Reflection and Note to Future Students
For this final discussion: you will write a letter to your future self AND a piece of advice to my future CHEM102 student!
A lot can happen in a semester. You should reflect on the last 16 weeks. What challenged you? What do you wish you had known at the start of the semester? What and who helped you? What did you accomplish in this class? What challenges did you overcome? What are you most proud of from this class?
Initial Post by Tuesday 11:59 pm
- You will report on something good that happened to you, or an accomplishment of yours from the last 5-7 days. It doesn’t have to be chemistry or science or even school-related. Please keep it appropriate!
- A daily 30-minutes self-care plan (walk, jog, gym, yoga, mediate, etc.) till the end that you would like to continue.
- The letter should (at minimum) contain the following:
- Things you are most proud of from your time in Chem 102. For examples, “something specific and/or surprising things you learned this semester”, “a specific challenge you overcame”, etc, but make sure to be SPECIFIC.
- What is something you can do today that you could not do at the start of the semester?
- What happened this semester that you are grateful for? What is something you look forward to in the future?
- One piece of advice which could be helpful to a future Chem 102 student, be specific!

please reply to at least two of our classmates’ posts by doing the followings:
- Your response should be to their accomplishment! If you want to applaud them, give them an e-high five! If you had a similar experience, share!
Separately, thank one or more peers who helped you in this course. This may also be one of your last chance to interact with your peers this semester, so you may want to leave as many “Farewell” messages as you like.
