Please watch the episode “Becoming American” from the Unnatural Causes documentary on Kanopy.

Prompt: Strong social networks and support are known to promote better health for all of us. However, among immigrants, research suggests that over time, different social and contextual factors might play a role in eroding the family and social supports that help keep them healthy. Based on the “Becoming American” documentary episode, what were some of these factors and how might they disrupt social networks and diminish support systems among this group? How might these disruptions erode health (e.g., health behaviors, mental health, physical health, etc.) over time?
