The McDonaldization of Medicine – Video + Learning Activity & Class Discussion 

PART ONE:

Watch this video about McDonaldization.

PART TWO: 

Consider your reading in Module Five about McDonaldization and find an example, from the internet, or your life, of McDonaldization occurring in the field of health and medicine. 

PART THREE:

If the occurrence you found was from your life, briefly document it with a photograph or two, and a short (2-3 sentence description of what is happening). If the occurrence is from an article, briefly summarize the article (2-3 sentences), and provide a link as well. In either case, DO NOT explain why you think the article or occurrence indicates McDonaldization of health/medicine. You will post this to your Small Group.

PART FOUR:

1. Respond at least three peers’ posts from your Project Groups, explaining why YOU think their post is or is not a good example of the McDonaldization of health/medicine. 
2. If you are not the first student to reply to a post, make sure to summarize the other replies and ADD A NEW IDEA.
