Elements and Ionic Compounds
- Describe the difference(s) between elements and ionic compounds.

Chapter 03 – Discussion Answer
Elements are the simplest identity of a material and is listed in the periodic table. All the elements, except for the Noble Gases, either accept or reject electrons in order to become “noble gas-like” and become reactive. On the other hand, ionic compounds are formed by the reaction of “conjugal” elements or compounds and is kept together by an ionic bond. Meaning, they are a combination of cations (positively charged) and anions (negatively charged).
