Week 7 Discussion Forum
- How do you define privacy?
- Do you believe privacy is a moral right? Why or why not?
- Are there any cases in which public health policy justifies the violation of the right to privacy?
Week 7 Discussion Forum Answer (2)
Privacy is the right against unreasonable searches and seizures of the government and its agents and the right against undue or arbitrary interference by private persons. It also refers to the right to have peace of mind in one’s seclusion. It assumes that are spheres of life where people can simply seek refuge and their minds can be free from any worries or preoccupations. I believe that privacy is a moral right because it is indispensable for the exercise of other rights that are inalienable to humans such as the right to life, right to liberty and right to property.
Week 7 Discussion Forum Answer
Privacy refers to the right to be secure in one person and house. It is also the right not to be intruded upon either by the government or private individual unless so ordered lawfully by the court and when public safety and order so requires. Privacy also entails the right to have security in both the mind and the limb from other entity or person who has no prior lawful justification to intrude.
