Assignment 9 Answer

Family is often defined differently by different people. The government has a legal definition of family that is utilized for income taxes and insurance. In your own home with your loved ones, you may choose to define family differently. Single parents, multiple parents, cisgender and transgender couples, and unmarried couples make up today’s families. Families can be formed by adoption, mixing families from many marriages or relationships, or surrogacy. Grandparents or other relatives may solely guard young children. Regardless of your alternative family’s makeup, the urge to protect one’s loved ones is innate.
