Module 2 – DQ #1 Answer

Historians apply these pieces of historical data by making sure that they legitimize the work. This is also referred to as historical thinking. In the video for this week’s material, it was emphasized that critical thinking is heavily used by historians since they have to fully understand not only the context of the materials but also the circumstances of their creation. Ultimately, the materials themselves cannot simply be taken as they are; they have to be perceived through a specific lens that reflects that period of history. The 5 Cs in historical thinking all emphasize these ideas.
