Portrayals of the male and female body have different representations which the artist mainly provide a glimpse of their reflection of it as well as the beliefs and narratives which inspired or influenced them to present the body form in such a way. Tradition, mythologies, and history are some factors that inhibit the artist’s way of representing the male and the female body, and such forms show what beliefs they have had – through cultural affiliation – about the human body. A primary example of this is the relevance of social standards and mythology in the representation of male and female forms.
