Like with any other issues in the educational field, face-to-face and distance learning both have their advantages and disadvantages. Ultimately, I would agree that distance learning is mostly beneficial rather than burdensome. Even in the second article by Jaggars and Xu, they agreed that distance learning can be improved by having instructors capitalize on their communication skills. By doing this, one can solve one of the largest disadvantages of distance learning, which is lack of an instructor’s presence.
