Career counseling is a way for students to be guided as to what career paths are suitable for them. In the materials presented, Julian Assid argued that making career counseling mandatory would pave the way for freshmen to understand their options better. Since freshmen in college are often dumbfounded and confused as to what career paths are suitable for them, this counseling would give them the fundamental perspectives that they need. The students can understand how their strengths and weaknesses would play out in their careers. They can also be given suggestions based on their characteristics.
