Discussion #3 Answer

Smith’s statement reveals both the truth and the assumptions about the college experience. It is true that at some point in time, a college education is an investment for financial stability in the future and is commonly used as a ground to justify the exorbitant cost of college tuition fees. At the same time, the assumption that college is not given the description of a method to attain and discover knowledge for knowledge’s sake is a bit condescending, because whatever happens, something educational piques the interests of the college students, therefore, some of them choose to go towards the path of education hungry for more knowledge
