Discussion 13 Answer

Most of the time, students mistake summaries as analysis. Analysis and summary are both distinct concepts. A summary is the gist of an original text, speech, film, document, or event. It is simply a shortened version that tells the main topic or points so that the reader can convey the meaning of the text in a shorter period. It utilizes indirect and straightforward and is in the present tense which provides a concise and comprehensive condensation of statements and facts which is written longer in the original document. On the other hand, an analysis asks questions and probes what the writer has stated and the reason behind it.
