There are several ways to cite sources in an academic paper namely paraphrasing, summarizing, and quoting an author directly. Summarizing is a way to cite sources by discussing the merits of the author. Paraphrasing is employing sources by explaining them in one’s words. Directly quoting is getting a piece of the text and incorporating it into a paper. Among the three ways of citing sources, the one that I am most comfortable with is paraphrasing because it made me understand the material more.
