Discussion 2: The Cycle of Communication Between Neurons Answer

Nerve cells, also known as neurons communicate with a combination of electrical and chemical impulses. Communication within the neuron involves the transfer of electrical impulses that is driven by a charged particle that allows the rapid conduction from one end of the cell to the other end of the cell. However, neurons can also communicate with other neurons or to a muscle cell. Instead of electrical impulses, chemical process is involved in communicating between neurons. The communication occurs between neurons occur along tiny gaps called synapses.
