Wk 4 Discussion – Unintended Consequences of Informed Consent Answer

Regulations are crucial and necessary to ensure that people’s health is protected and that hospitals are equipped adequately to deliver care in the safest way possible. However, the rapid expansion of resources related to regulation and compliance is causing a huge concern. Many of the regulated actions are redundant and inefficient, and they do not improve patient care (AHA, 2017). Singh (2018) added that while the purpose of a regulatory environment should be to assure better treatment quality, many physicians believe the opposite is happening. The quality of patient treatment tends to decline as restrictions become more important.
