Purpose:
To give you an opportunity to think about the major theorists we discussed this chapter and think about where you fall. Psychologists take in the information and then form our own opinions that are informed by research. You’ll also hear what your classmates have to say about this age old debate!

- Understand the concepts we discussed in chapter 4
- Take in the information and form your own opinion
- Write about your opinion clearly with language that your classmates and I can follow
- Engage in dialogue with your classmates beyond just agreeing with them
Task:
- Listen carefully to the chapter 4 podcasts. I had a prompt in the podcasts for you to reflect on.
- Write in paragraph form and fully explain your answer. Make sure to use your own words.
- Respond to 2 classmates peers with something thoughtful (beyond just agreeing with them)
Criteria for success:

Chapter 4 Assignment Answer
Piaget’s Cognitive Development theory simply states that a child learns by interacting with their environment, while Vygotsky emphasizes how children learn through social interactions and communicate with other people to acquire cultural values in society. Both theories were critical to discuss cognitive development and have meaningful insights that everyone could agree with. But for this discussion, I would like to take the side of Piaget.
