Please also include:

  • How you arrived at this issue or topic
  • What interests you? Why?
  • What do you already know about your issue or topic?
  • What questions do you currently have about your issue or topic?

Your proposal should articulate a series of questions that will guide your project. And your research should then help you find the answers to these questions that you have about your topic.

Finally, your proposal should state the preliminary thesis your paper will address. Although the thesis statement you provide at this point does not have to be the same one that you will use in your research paper, it should be focused enough so that you would be proud to use it in your final paper. This means that your preliminary thesis statement can be several sentences and should give your audience a precise sense of what you intend to argue about your topic.

Week 10 Assignment Answer

Thesis Statement: The work of Shakespeare has many different interpretations regarding the view of the author on gender equality, yet the answer remains ambiguous.

There have been several interpretations of the poems by William Shakespeare. Some of these criticisms have focused on the sexuality of Shakespeare. His views of women and men and how it is portrayed in his literary pieces. However, the work of Shakespeare does not directly state that he is a feminist. Yet some critics have been debating whether Shakespeare is a feminist or anti-feminist.
