Discussion: Week 5

After reading about the design argument in general, read an excerpt from Paley’s version of the same argument. In your first post, you should compare a watch and the universe by listing the similarities and the differences between the two. Which list is more significant? How does your finding affect the design argument, i.e. does it support or reject? Answer the questions by following Directions and Discussion Guidelines.

Discussion: Week 5 Answer 

One of the basic similarities between a watch and the universe is that both serves a purpose. The purpose is unique in that it is functional to human life. A watch is important to humans because it tells us time, and time is precious in that it tells us how much or how little we have left to do things or tasks we wanted or need to do. On the other hand, the universe is important to human life because without it, human life would not exist – time, space, matter and humans would not exist without the universe
