Federalism Essay Answer

What are the different types of federalism? Describe these differences.

Your Answer:

The different types of federalism are dual and cooperative federalism. In dual federalism, the jurisdiction of the federal and state governments are clearly defined each one cannot encroach on the powers of the other. On the other hand, cooperative federalism ushered in the increased overlap in the functions of the two levels of government. For instance, the New Deal passed regulations on the minimum wage, which tends to affect intra-state commerce, a power previously reserve to the state.
