Social Movements Answer

Social movements refer to the group or assembly of people that was organized and formed to work toward a common goal or objective (Little, 2016). They are not an ordinary group or assembly of people because of the nature of the goal they are trying to pursue. Social movements are formed to pursue a change in the society, resist a change being implemented, or provide a political voice for those who have been oppressed, marginalized, and neglected in the society (Little, 2016). In short, social movements play a vital role in the society with respect to social changes.

Social Movements Answer

A social movement is successful due to various factors. First, the movement should have clearly defined goals or vision. A clear goal will guide the organization in its action and this will also keep the members engaged and focused despite potential changes in the situation. Second, a movement should not only be “parliament of the street”. It should also be equipped with legal capabilities and means.
