The Enumerated Powers of the Federal Government

The enumerated powers of the federal government are those expressly granted or delegated by the Constitution. These powers define the boundaries within which the federal government can exercise authority. Corollary, states may not assume these powers, except when concurrent powers exist. These powers can be found in Article I, Section 8 of the US Constitution.
