The Concurrent Powers of the Federal Government

            While federalism provides for a system of government whereby two levels of government—the federal government and state governments—exercise power, there are powers that are shared by the two governments. These are called concurrent or shared powers. There is no provision in the US Constitution that explicitly enumerates the concurrent powers of the federal and state governments
