Discussion 6 Answer

Chapter 7 of Neuman’s textbook explores the importance of research designs and measurements in both qualitative and quantitative, especially the definitions of conceptualization and operationalization, including conceptual and operational definition. Neuman (2020) defines conceptualization as the “process of developing clear, rigorous, systematic conceptual definitions for ideas/concepts”. On the other hand, operationalization is the “process of moving from a construct’s conceptual definition to specific activities or measures that allow a researcher to observe it empirically” (Neuman, 2020).
