For this Discussion Forum, you will research an American Industrial city, from the list below, and share your findings and images with the class. 

 

STEP 1: Choose one of these (former) Industrial Cities in the US:

  • Detroit, Michigan
  • Chicago, Illinois
  • Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
  • Cleveland, Ohio
  • Buffalo, New York

STEP 2: Research your city’s industrial history. Look for when the city industrialized, what geographical features created advantages for industry in the region, what specific industries flourished there, and what raw materials were needed. You may add other aspects you think are interesting. 

STEP 3: Add 2-3 images of your city (paintings, illustrations, or early pictures) from its industrial days.
