1. Write a thoughtful reading response (2 paragraphs, 200+ words) Pop Culture for Beginners Chapter 4 – “Popular Culture Pivot Points” pgs 85-106 
• Choose a particular aspect of this chapter that you found interesting or intriguing. Be sure to quote from the chapter at least once! 
• Not sure what to write about? Ask yourself which of the 5 “pivot points” discussed in the chapter is, in your opinion, the most interesting and do some extra research on it.  Find a concrete example of your chosen “pivot point” concept in action and discuss your example. 
2. Write a thought-provoking discussion question for your group about an issue or issues brought up in this reading. 
3. Respond to ALL of the other students in your group (at least once) and answer their discussion question!
