Though this course explores the science behind climate change, we can’t discuss these human impacts without acknowledging the disproportionate effects experienced by some communities over others due to societal structures and choices made by governing agencies, corporations, and individuals. Climate change and social justice are deeply intertwined, and both must be examined when thinking about solutions for a more sustainable, equitable future.

  1. What communities are disproportionately impacted by climate change? Why are they so often overlooked?
  2. What is environmental justice?
