For unit 3 discussion we will focus on the concept of ecosystem, and explore an ecosystem in a practical manner. Your resources are this educational website from national geographic  (Links to an external site.) and this index of national parks (Links to an external site.). These 2 resources should give you enough information to complete this assignment, but you can also resort to Wikipedia if you need additional information. For this short post, please select a national park of your choice and describe the components of that ecosystems, with the biotic and abiotic components, describe some of the feeding relationships in that ecosystems (apex predators for examples, what are the main producers, primary, secondary, and tertiary consumers, etc.), discuss if there are any endemic species and any specific threats to that ecosystems (such as invasive species, pollution, acid rain, etc.). Your post should be about 200 words. For full credit you must also respond to 2 of your classmates, and engage in meaningful conversation on the topics. Your responses must be at least 50 words in length, and very short answers such as “me too” or “I agree” will not earn any credit. For full credit you must also use terminology and concepts covered in chapters 9-12, such as those described above.
