Learning How to Learn

To address the diverse STEM disciplines we have in this class , let’s continue with some researched-based videos about learning how to learn.  I want you to learn some transferable skills that can apply to your other classes or future career in addition to learning chemistry.

Respond to this discussion prompt by Tuesday 11:59 pm. Select the Reply box and write a paragraph for each of the following questions:

  1. You will report on something good that happened to you, or an accomplishment of yours from the last 5-7 days. It doesn’t have to be chemistry or science or even school-related. Please keep it appropriate!
  2. How does multitasking impair our memory and learning?  Reflecting how you studied in the past, were you multitasking?  If so, what were you doing while studying or learning?  
  3. What are the two different practices mentioned in the video?  How is the difference between the two practice?
  4. After watching these two videos, how are you going to implement these two strategies in your study for the next two weeks.    We will go back and write a self-reflection later.
