Last December 3, 2018, Assemblymember Chu and co-authors introduced into the California Assembly the California Assembly Bill 8 (CA AB8) known as the “Pupil Health: Mental Health Professionals”. The said bail underwent different amendments to strengthen and modify its content during March 4, March 19, and May 16, 2019; conducted session hearings and assembly plenaries for the bill happened with the efforts of Chu and other assemblymembers. Moreover, the said bill underwent three readings and an approval of the said three readings; the mentioned referral and Committee hearing, supposedly on July 8, 2019, was postponed.
